A Very scarce / rare 1917 dated Great War Flag for the Saxon Royal house holds main seat of Authority in the City of Dresden This is probably the last flag from the Residence Schloss before the dissolution of The Saxon Royal Family and the other monarchies throughout Germany.
Of Hugh size 3.250 metres x 2,300 metres Still in full colour with a green "Rauter Crown " cutting diagonally across a striped yellow and black field. The above series of photos show the quality of the flag It is fully stitched and not printed.
On its edge it has the following RESIDENZE SCHLOSS DRESDEN the size 3250 X 2300 the date. 1917 and the maker S.D.F. PIRNITZ.
Some light areas of moth but these do not detract from such a large Flag. The Edge has a very small patch of fraying ( wind and rain damage ) For me this adds to its authenticity.
A most historical piece being probably the last Royal Flag to fly over the State of Saxony and of course the capital city of Dresden..!
Again this is a very rare historical piece
