There can be some confusion regarding the various types of Bavarian Military Service crosses. Their methodology ia as follows.
There are 3 specific forms of the cross:
All crosses can be with swords and crowns depending on the gravity of the award
1) FOR NCO'S ( 1st class ) In gilded ( gold finish) metal 1st class with gilt finish & white and black enamel centres. Like the 2nd Class in silver finish also with white and black enamel centres
2) FOR NCO'S ( 2nd class ) In silver metal finish with white and black enamel centres. 2nd Class in silver finish white and black enamel centres
3) FOR ENLISTED MEN. ( 3rd. class) all in different tones of copper from dark to light coloured copper
4) FOR ENLISTED MEN ( 3rd class) in '' Late war Kriegs Metal" Grey metal finish
5). FOR OFFICERS. ( 4th class ). All crosses with blue enamel, 4 classes exist 1st & 2nd class tend to be large breast stars in Gold & neck star also ) , More common awards have blue and white Bavarian ribbons and are 3rd ( gold) and 4th class in Silver.
All have blue enamel and can possibly also have swords and a crown. They are generally ( the early war ones in 900 or 835 real silver.)
The original cases came in colours from pale blue to mid blue ...Later presentation boxes were in dark maroon coloured card. Various designation titles can be found such as: Bayr. M.V.Krz 2.KL. m.d.Kr This stands for Bavarian Militar Verdienst Kreutz 2nd Klass mit Degen, Kron i.e. Bavarian military Service cross with swords ( daggers) and crown. This is the rarest case or box Generally the majority of cases have just Bayr M.V.Kr. this can have the .with swords crosses in them However Crosses with crowns would usually have the crown designation on the lid.
'in SILVER lettering. Cross excellent detail. Length of replacement ribbon ribbon In excellent condition. Boxes and cases usually they only have the designation Bayr M.V. Krz on the lid are generally used / seen with crosses with and without swords. Makers label in the box of ' Deschler & Sohn Munchen' Very scarce 2nd class case

As stated above the text " Furstlich Hohenzollernsche Orden and Ehrenzeichen " is a standard text on the governance , history and the various orders of the Hohenzollern Orden. It describes the various medals, knights breast awards neck awards and breast stars which were awarded by the Hohenzollern family. From 1851 up to 1965 The book details all the various awards and their chances over time as well as several manufacturers during each era .
Written in German over 235 pages with multiple photographs of the awards with two pages of the original design warrants in colour . There are many photos of personalities wearing the awards and pics of medal bars containing them
The book itself is on high quality paper and heavy card covers. A superb and most complete research on the Hohenzollern order
The text publishing details relating to the above Hohenzollern award ( and all other awards gifted by the various Hohenzollerns ) are as follows : the text is entitled " Furstlich Hohenzollernsche Order and ; Ehrenzeichen " researched and written by Link and Gauggel…. 1985 ….published by Graf Klenau Verlags .

( probably a jewellers window display exhibition piece )
AN EXTREMELY UNUSUAL, FINE & RARE ORIGINAL PERIOD PIECE . An oversized Hohenzollern Hausorden. First Class with swords and crown, which was probably used to display jewellers stock and showing some quality of these medals. Could also possibly have been in a Taylors shop which catered to exalted members of German society.
Manufactured in gilded metal with white, black, green and blue fine enamels.
It measures some 10 cm from the top of the cross on the crown to the lower arm of the cross & is some 6.5 cm across from arm to arm….With some excellent details throughout. Crown, swords and Reich eagle are all very well executed and gilded An eye-catching advertisment for awards medals and military assesories: well made piece of Imperial Period shop wear. The picture featuring the rear of an Iron cross gives a sense of it size & its light convex form when in comparison…

BURGLARY
Our Family lost approximately £10,000 worth of goods in our burglary all of it uninsured. (The insurance company is another storey.the wrong box was ticked ) Over the month since the 'break in' I watched 11 stolen pieces of it nearly all Iron Crosses 1st class and their cases being sold on Ebay.UK. for a fraction of their worth.
The police were provided with the sellers Ebay name. the lot number of each of the stolen items and the approximate dates of sale. I even gave them the address of the seller
What else can a citizen do?
I have had to sit and watch these valuable pieces being sold over a period of 4 weeks and the police have, as far as I can see really not achieved anything.
I E.mailed the seller ( against the advice of the police ) he replied that he didn't understand but left his real Address I gave this to the police who contacted him and he handed over all he said he had, he had no idea they were stolen. He was a liar, he gave the police empty boxes after stealing their contents which he was selling on EBay and has now completely disappeared ( what a surprise ) The police actually interviewed him and let him go as they thought he was innocent.. I find that difficult to believe He was a thief at least as he returned empty boxes with the contents gone but they were shown on EBAY two days before.. The returns were worth about £400 ( out of about £3500.00 of militatria ). The police let him go !!!!! ?????? and as I mentioned he has since completely disappeared.. I give up !!
ALSO: Trying to contact Ebay.UK "Law enforcement" is a nightmare I personally have tried 15 times ( almost every day ) and it just goes round and round. Starts off in the Philippines, you can then sent to New York, Manilla Sheffield ? ( a false number I was given by Ebay in Manilla ) and other places that over a month I have logged. Finally you are always returned to the Philippines call centre to yet again start the circle / circus …..with no result. It is as if they want to protect their reputation for purity and security by ignoring anything that might tarnish their image. Meanwhile Ebay is awash with stolen stuff. Ebay say that they will only act on a Police request though there appears too be no automatic Police access to their 'Law and Enforcement' section. I believe that department is a MYTH..!!
The police must be able to disrupt Ebay organised crime. Every Police group dealing with Burglaries must be able to cut through Ebay.UK's global prevarication to prevent these criminals selling their ill-gotten gains thus ensuring that ANY stolen goods in the UK can actually be stopped and collected so that crime actually does NOT pay………… as it does at the moment ! Just think about it £10.000.00 for an hours work! ( My local Police were unable to access Ebay.UK indeed they had not a clue what I was talking about. )
EBAY is an open sewer of stolen goods and the police appear unable to do anything. WHY ?
