Gilded metal stars with scarlet cloth centres, mounted with a large crown to the centre and all fixing pins to the rear. The crown and gilded star from a Ulan or Hussar Regiment No 18 officer based in Leipzig. OR THE 12 Artillery Regiment based in DRESDEN…. The photos show the stars more gilded than they look. This is probably the yellow light flash..
My own feeling is that they could be Artillery Regiment 12 Officers Shabrake stars

The 56th Regiment based in Cleve ( No 7 Westfalisches inf reg ) became the 56 line infantry regiment. These flags are extremely beautiful the quality is consistent throughout these banners. This example is still attached to the original skien though it is finished. The photographs show the design . In the centre a representation of the 56th Infantry Regiment Shoulder strap. and the usual German veterans association mottos & dates. Fabulous bordering Oak leaves embroidery and very detailed crown Extremely beautiful hand embroidery. Magnificent ! Now in a fragile condition but still a beautiful piece of skilled handcraft.
Good single side of a Veterans Regimental banner
This was part of a trade for a pickelhaube and I am afraid that is all I know……The flags scarlet base looks to be wool but could it be cotton as does the separately applied white disk. The blue "Wittlich" panel is heavy wool.. The separately stitched, double sided blue wool panel with black lettering and silver (looks metallic wire to the panel edge. The separate applied white roundal and the applied stitched black swastika are cotton and the banner is 1.275 m (50 inches approx) x 1.050 m ( 40 inches approx ) in size excluding the metallic fringe which is. ..6.5 cm ( 2.5 inches approx) on each side. It has a silver metallic fringe running round 3 sides It has 7 cloth loops running down the other ie. the 4th side. The banner is a little creased and shows one of two age staines / marks ….I cannot see any holes or other problems with it Extremely sharp colours are almost startling.
I allowed £450 trade in for it about 9 years ago.
The Nationalsozialistische Betriebszellenorganisation ( NSBO ) started in 1931 generally from Industrial and factory cells. with groups of members from as little as 50 workers to groups like those at RheinMetal of 2000. Each group had its own banner and eventually came under the umbrella of the D.A.F. This particular cell flag is probably an early one from the town of Wittlich which is an industrial town on the edge of the Ruhr industrial zone.
