Large Gilt Garde spread wing eagle. A large star burst silver ( Nickel silver ) star to the centre with the proper blank reserve officers cross to its centre This is a good example of an original Garde eagle retaining its lettered scroll only now with the large star badge and reserve cross star badge has its screw threads aud screw nuts. . Small silverReserve cross to the centre identifies the helmet plate as a Garde Technical officer .. The eagle itself it is probably nickel silver with a silver finish with a considerable patina. A fine example of a Rare Reserve Garde Officers helmet plate. an overall excellent example.

Another Good heavy early type of 1857 Pattern Guarde grenadier OR.s picklehaube helmet plate. Brass eagle with silver Garde star. on its breast. Both rear securing loops present to eagle, the garde star looks like a later addition Though it is fully possible that it is a proper addition to a Grenadier transfer to a guard regiment. . The Guard star to this eagle is flat to its chest. Little gilded finish remaining to the front of the helmet plate, no damage to the eagle and star. The rear fixing screws are possibly replaced. Early GRENADIER PLATES are extremely Rare. This very early pattern Garde plate of these regiments in very very scarce particularly in this condition.

HP.6 1871. IMPERIAL PRUSSIAN 8th DRAGOON CAVALRY REGIMENT OR's BRASS HELMET PLATE.
Early type of 1871 Pattern Dragoon Cavalry mans picklehaube helmet plate. This is overall slightly larger than the later 1880 pattern Brass coloured eagle in the Guard eagle style with a broad winged eagle but without the Garde star badge attached to its breast. Both rear screw posts present to eagle rear. Though it does have the classic reserve Cross on its chest with "Fur Gott Keonig etc etc. polished brass level of finish no damage to the eagle. These earlier Grenadier and dragoon helmet plates are very scarce.

Extremely rare Officers Tschapka plate for the 14th Ulan regiment. German silver construction with excellent detail. With the battle honours 'WATERLOO' 'PENINSULA' 'GARZIA HERNANDEZ ALL IN SUPERB QUALITY They are all applied separately
The helmet plate is in excellent early heavy Silver Plated 'German Silver ' ( nickel ) construction ( The space to centre of posts is approx 7.5 cm. comes with a couple of nuts for the posts), This is actually a very very rare absolutely Original plate . These are now copied but while the Front of copies look good they ALL have problems when seen against an original which is of very much finer construction and lettering. not even mentioning the rear blistered finish of the copy helmet plate due to electrotyping.
The colour is actually SILVER the photos make it look dark grey It is nickel silver with a AGE darkened silver blackening patina.Could be easily polished to a bright silver if needed for a mint helmet.
